IXM Print Samples
Print format #1 column right-justified.
Print format #2 column run-on format.
Print format #2 column run-on format.
The first 2 samples are printing directly from IXM, on a dot-matrix printer, using a mono-spaced Courier font.   Sample 3 was printed from a word-processing program, using a proportional Times Roman font.   Using your wp-program opens up all kinds of possibilities in formatting and printing your index.
Print format #2 from Bluegrass Roots.
This image is 184k in size, so have patience while it comes to your browser.   This image is better quality than the ones above, to give you a better idea of how a real printout might look.   Note that this page was originally printed on a dot-matrix printer.   A laser or ink-jet should look better.

This index was routed from IXM to Microsoft Word, where I then picked it up and added the logo and other info in the bottom right-hand corner of the last-page of the index (since I had some white space left, I thought I might as well use it).

Print format #1 (the right-justified format) is easier to read than print format #2 (the run-on format), however, the run-on format will require less print pages for your index.   If you use a proportional font with the run-on format, you can save even more print pages.   To see what I mean, look closely at the 3 samples above, and see how the names fall on the page, paying special attention to the names in the bottom right-hand corner.   With example #3, notice the index is further along in the index, alphabetically.

I apologize for the poor quality of these images, but I didn't want to make them very large, taking a long time to come across the wire.   Hope to come up with something better sometime.
